A common question we get here at Dock411 HQ is, “I pull a flat bed, does Dock411 have anything for flatbed drivers?”
Of course we do! When we use the word “dock”, we’re using that as a general term to describe anywhere someone gets loaded or unloaded. This could be a dock, a parking lot, inside a building or even the middle of nowhere. We have kept all truck types, sizes and orientations in mind while designing and developing the app. Indeed, a good portion of the app is for drivers who bump docks, but there are still a lot of attributes that help out the flatbed driver like:
- Appointment Needed
- Bathrooms available to drivers
- Forklift, Crane load/unload and its weight limits.
- Pictures of facility/yard
- Hours / Contact Info
- Satellite map of facility location with load/unload location
- Lighting
- Local Directions
- Maneuverability
- Pets Allowed
- Staff Attitude and Professionalism
- Heavy Haul Friendly?
- Vending Machines
- and more…
We often hear that flatbed trucks show up during the construction of the building/warehouse and there’s only a dirt or gravel lot to pull into. In this situation, that location can certainly be logged as a dock in the app and labeled as a “construction dock”. So when construction is completed and they start to receive freight at the actual docks, a brand new dock can be logged as “main dock” or “shipping/receiving” with a new set of attributes.
We love to receive feedback, especially from drivers. If you have a suggestion, please let us know in the feedback section of the app! We are always looking for ways to improve the Dock411 experience for all audiences of the industry.
