A hurricane couldn’t stop the fun down in Dallas!
The Great American Trucking Show (GATS) in Dallas hosts about 45,000 attendees ranging from drivers to company executives. Exhibitors include trucking companies, technology companies, and manufacturers and sellers of anything you can screw or glue to a truck.
With that being said, Dock411 had to be there! We had a booth in the show which allowed us to hang out and chat with some of our existing users, all while educating and promoting the app to new users. The app was well received with drivers as well as some potential partners down the road.
A big thanks goes out to Mandy at National Trucking Magazine for inviting us to a pre-show party at Gas Monkey Bar and Grill. This was a great networking event for us and we had a blast with everyone!
We also had a rare opportunity to do a radio spot with legend Dave Nemo, host on Sirius XM Road Dog Radio – Channel 146. Dave is one of the most respected individuals in trucking and has been in radio for over 45 years! Following our interview with Dave, Dock411 was invited to a surprise event where Dave was presented with a lifetime achievement award. So to say we were honored to be on his show was an understatement.
Dock411 co-founder, Eric Weidl, ran the Progressive Commercial Roadhouse 5K Run. No, he didn’t pass out from the Texas heat. He actually ended up placing 3rd in his class and brought home a trophy. Nice job Eric!
Another highlight was the official kick-off of The Road to 10K, a campaign to get to 10,000 users as quickly as possible. More active Dock411 users means better information for everyone! So aside from having this handy app as a resource on the road, think of it as having 9,999 other drivers helping you as well!
Overall, the show was a wonderful success. Texas never disappoints. The food, the people and show all were top notch. It was great seeing everyone at the show, we can’t wait for the next one!
